Fair-use allowances

These daily allowances apply per plan to the cloud AI features of WhispaWave. They refill continuously and are sized so that you do not reach them with normal personal use. This page is the binding overview of the fair-use allowances; our Terms of Service (published before the official launch of WhispaWave) refer to it in section 12.1.
Important: On Macs with Apple silicon, normal dictation runs directly on your device — it uses no cloud allowance and is not affected by this table. On Intel Macs, speech recognition runs through our EU cloud and counts toward the “Cloud speech recognition” allowance.
iPhone app: In the iPhone app, speech recognition always runs through our EU cloud; dictations there therefore count toward the “Cloud speech recognition” allowance. The allowances apply per account and across devices.

Questions about your conversations: A question in an open conversation and a question across all conversations count the same — each question counts once. Questions do not count toward the allowance for meeting notes.
* On the Free plan, questions count toward the monthly allowance for meeting notes.
Question allowance over 30 days
In addition to the daily value, an allowance over any 30-day period applies to questions about your conversations. It refills continuously — there is no fixed reset date.

On the Free plan, an additional allowance over any 7-day period applies to Command Mode. It refills continuously — there is no fixed reset date. On all paid plans and during the trial period, only the daily value from the table above applies.

Monthly allowance for Conversation mode
An additional monthly allowance applies to Conversation mode (recording and importing conversations as well as the associated meeting notes). What counts is the duration of your recording or of the imported file. The allowance applies per calendar month and is fully available to you again on the first day of each month. On Pro+ and Team+, it is sized so that you do not reach it with normal professional use (fair use).

Daily cost cap
In addition, a daily cost cap per account applies as protection against abuse. Expressed as usable cloud audio minutes (the most expensive use case), it corresponds to at least:

The minute figure is calculated with the most expensive use case (cloud speech recognition per audio minute) — a minimum guarantee. For most features, the daily allowances in the table apply first; only with very long cloud audio use (for example in Conversation mode) can the cost cap apply first. Text requests (text improvement, transformations, notes) are considerably cheaper than audio and are practically not limited by the cap.
Changes to these values
If we increase allowances, this applies immediately and without any formalities. A reduction of these values is a change to our main service: it only takes effect if you actively agree to it — never through silence.
